PARSONS, Kan. (KOAM) -- The Parsons Police Department arrested a man after he allegedly stole a vehicle from the Augusta, Kansas, area.
The incident happened on July 13, 2026, just before 8 a.m.
The Augusta Police Department notified the Parsons Police Department that a vehicle stolen earlier that morning may be headed toward Parsons.
Officers utilized the department's Flock Safety camera system to monitor the vehicle's estimated movement, according to Parsons PD.
Around 10:50 a.m., Community Services Officer Ricky Thompson, while on routine patrol, found the stolen vehicle near the 2300 block of Appleton Avenue as it was driving through alleyways.
Parsons police arrested the suspect on behalf of the August Police Department for felony theft of a motor vehicle. The suspect is also expected to face a local charge of Driving While Suspended.
