Little People, Big World alum Audrey Roloff is responding to Christian fans who took issue with her attending Noah Kahan ‘s recent concert in Seattle, Washington.
Audrey, 35, who is married to Jeremy Roloff , son of LPBW stars Amy Roloff and Matt Roloff , took to Instagram to share some photos from the epic night out and clapped back at critics in the process.
In the first photo of Audrey’s carousel from the concert, she included a comment from a fan who questioned her for supporting 29-year-old Kahan’s music.
“As Christians, how do you support his music when he sings a song telling thousands of people at a time not to worry about their soul and what God would do with it — when it should be the opposite,” the user wrote, seemingly referring to Kahan’s hit “The Great Divide.”
The former reality star then used the subsequent shots in the photo dump to share her reasons why , calling the commenter’s gripe “one of my biggest frustrations with modern Christianity.”
“The idea that appreciating someone’s art means adopting their entire worldview,” Audrey went on to write. “I’m going to a concert — not choosing a spiritual director. I don’t think Jesus would be telling us to treat every song we listen to like a doctrinal statement we are endorsing. Also, that’s exhausting and not exactly ‘living life to the full.'”
She continued, “Do I believe words have power? Absolutely. Do I believe what we consume can affect us spiritually? Of course. But that’s where discernment comes in.”
While Audrey, who shares children Ember , 8, Bode , 6, Radley , 4 and Mirabella , 2, with husband Jeremy, 36, said she’s aware not all of her followers will agree with her take, she encouraged fans, particularly those of the Christian faith, to focus on building their own relationship with God, instead of harping on hers.
“Maybe instead of spending so much energy discerning what everyone else should or shouldn’t be doing, we could put that energy towards practicing discernment with the Holy Spirit ourselves,” Audrey suggested. “Ultimately, I believe God is so much bigger than the boxes we keep trying to put him in.”
She also insisted that there’s no beef between her and her fans after the rant, captioning the post with a cheeky set of lyrics from Kahan himself: “Whatever differing opinion you might have about Noah Kahan… it’s all ok. There ain’t a drop of bad blood, you got all my love 😜🫶🏻.”
