A van crossed the median and collided with several oncoming vehicles. Later, a truck struck several stopped cars
Four people were taken to the hospital after two separate multi-vehicle crashes in the same section of Highway 102 on Wednesday that involved a total of 13 vehicles.

RCMP say a northbound Chevrolet Express van crossed the grass median into southbound traffic, struck a Toyota Rav 4 and became airborne, colliding with a Buick Enclave, then landing on a Chevrolet Colorado and coming to rest on its side. A Subaru Impreza then collided with the Colorado.
The driver and sole occupant of the van was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, as were the drivers of the RAV4 and the Colorado.
The highway was closed in both directions for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist worked at the scene and the debris and damaged vehicles were cleaned up.
The investigation into that crash is ongoing.
About 45 minutes later, with traffic still stopped for the investigation, another crash happened just before Exit 4C, southbound at Glendale Road.
Cpl. Mandy Edwards said that in that case, traffic was stopped when an International truck struck a GMC Sierra, a Ford Edge, a Jaguar XKR, and a GMC Terrain.
The GMC was pushed into a Ford Mustang, which struck a Hyundai Elantra, which collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe.
Out of all of that, only a passenger in the Ford Edge was taken to hospital for treatment, suffering injuries also described as non-life-threatening.
Edwards said the collisions resulted in significant traffic disruptions, with police reminding motorists to leave enough space between vehicles and remain alert for changing traffic conditions, especially when approaching slowed or stopped vehicles.
