Retired judge willing to pinch hit

The retired judge Cordell Maddox of Anderson is willing to return to the bench as an active retired judge. The South Carolina Merit Selection Commission lists Maddox one of three active retired judges for whom public hearings will take place November 16. The three are subject to public comment. All testimony, including documents to the commission, must be submitted under oath, and failure to appear will result in a dismissal of the complaint. It’s the duty of the JMSC to decide whether the judges are fit to serve.
