Indiana woman allegedly stabbed father to death, cut out his heart
PORTER COUNTY, Ind. (WKRC) - An Indiana woman was accused of stabbing her father to death before cutting out his heart.
According to court documents obtained by WGN and WTHR, the family of Gregory Dolnics contacted authorities to request a welfare check. While on the phone with 911, the family members reportedly began to receive texts and calls from a friend of Gregory's daughter, 32-year-old Serena Dolnics.
The friend told the family that Serena stabbed Gregory at his home and was covered in blood, and that she tried to go to the house but was locked out.
First responders entered through the rear of the home and quickly discovered Gregory's body, court documents said. Police determined that Serena was locked in a bedroom in the residence and called the SWAT team, and she was apprehended shortly after.
Police allegedly said that Gregory's heart had been cut out and placed on his chest, and that he suffered stab wounds to his head, hands, and arms. Investigators found three knives covered in blood in the home, authorities said.
Serena told police that she got along well with her father but they occasionally had short arguments that resolved quickly, court documents said.
Serena was charged with murder and is being held without bond.
