Italians Furious After Mamdani Omits Little Italy on NYC Immigrant Neighborhood Map
“Italian Americans BUILT NEW YORK CITY. Not third world Ugandans.”
The Italian American Civil Rights League (IACRL) blasted New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani for omitting Little Italy from his map of immigrant neighborhoods.
Zohran Mamdani wants to ERASE Italian Americans.
First, he denied our permit for Unity Day 2026.
Now, he is excluding Little Italy as a recognized location all together on the map.

“This is not a clerical error. This is cultural erasure,” seethed Mike Crispi, President of the Italian American Civil Rights League. “Little Italy is sacred ground. It is where Italian immigrants came with nothing, worked like hell, opened shops, raised families, built churches, fed the city, and helped make New York what it is.”

Everything Tony Soprano says in this clip is 100% true. The Americans used Italians for cheap labor. They basically built all the tunnels in NYC and much of the infrastructure.
In 1890, 90% of the laborers in the New York City Department of Public Works were Italian immigrants.
Look at the map. Notice anything missing? Western countries. Mamdani listed Poland, but don’t forget it’s in Eastern Europe.
Mamdani and his cronies absolutely despise Western culture. Where are the Irish? Where are the Jews? You cannot have an NYC immigrant neighborhood map with the Jewish, the Italians, and the Irish. And yet, Mamdani left off the Big Three.
“Mamdani’s City Hall can find room for every fashionable progressive constituency, but somehow it cannot find Little Italy,” added Crispi. “Our culture is good enough for photo ops, our food is good enough for their fundraisers, and our neighborhoods are good enough for tourism dollars – but when it comes time to recognize Italian Americans, they erase us.”
Believe it or not, I am Italian. My maternal great-grandparents came to America from Calabria, located in southern Italy, in the 1920s. I got all the recessive outward traits (red hair, blue eyes, fair skin due to Scottish and German genes from my biological father and maternal grandmother), but my mom passed to me all the Italian personality and mannerisms. My brother got all the dominant Italian genes (black hair, black eyes, olive skin).
One thing I learned from the family: Don’t. Tick. Off. Italians.

My great-grandparents and other Italians fled literal fascism. They came to America, assimilated, and prospered despite facing actual racism and obstacles. They didn’t complain. They fought back and proved their worth.
My mom told me my great-grandmother never spoke English, but my grandfather did. Again, these Italians assimilated, didn’t demand that everyone participate in their culture, and, most importantly, they never tried to change America.
The largest lynching in American history? March 14, 1891, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The police rounded up 11 men for allegedly murdering a police chief. They were arrested because they were Italian. A jury acquitted six, and the trials for the other three ended in mistrials.
A mob went into the Orleans Parish prison and slaughtered the 11 Italian American immigrants.
