Judge lifts ban on double murder suspect living in Darlington County
DARLINGTON, S.C (WPDE) — A judge has lifted a bond restriction that barred a man charged in a Darlington County double murder case from living in the county, according to South Carolina Attorney General's Office Communications Director Robert Kittle.
Kittle said the attorney for Fredrick Woods asked the court to remove the restriction because Woods has no other place to live except with his new wife in the Timmonsville area of Darlington County.
Kittle said the Attorney General's Office and the victims opposed the request.
The judge granted the motion but kept all other bond conditions in place, including home detention with electronic monitoring.
Deputies said Woods is charged with two counts of murder in a killing in the 3000 block of Timmonsville Highway back in February of 2019 in Darlington County.
Warrants said Woods shot and killed Matthew and Harry Jackson. It's not clear if the victims are related.
Additional information about the murders were never released.
It's not clear at this time when Woods will stand trial on the charges.
