Families invited to explore one-of-a-kind finds at Hilliard art event

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Artists and crafters from across the Columbus area will gather at the Makoy Event Center in Hilliard on Sunday, Sept. 20 for the return of the Columbus Fall Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features a wide selection of handmade goods and original works by local creators. Attendees can browse tables and displays filled with jewelry, artwork, home décor, clothing and accessories, bath and body goods and sweet treats.

Organizers say the show is designed for those looking to discover new items, with many unique and unexpected finds available. Part of the experience is meeting local artists and learning the stories behind the items on display.

The September show opens the Avant-Garde’s fall season and comes as shoppers begin preparing for autumn and planning ahead for holiday gifts. A portion of the event’s proceeds will go to Charity Newsies, a nonprofit that provides new clothing to children in need.

Admission is $3 at the door and children younger than 12 get in free.

The event takes place at Makoy Event Center, 5462 Center St., Hilliard.
