Trump says he'll spend 'a lot' of $850M MAGA Inc. war chest on midterm elections
President Donald Trump said he plans to spend "a lot" of MAGA Inc.'s money to help "good" Republican candidates in the 2026 midterm elections, adding that he has an $850 million fundraising haul.
Trump made the comments on Friday before boarding Air Force One for a trip to South Carolina, where he attended a Republican campaign rally.
"Well, I've raised a lot, and nobody knows what it is, but I will tell you it's about $850 million," Trump told reporters.
Trump said he would use "a lot of that money," as well as some of his own funds, to support Republican candidates he considers strong.
"When you add the $850 million to all of the other money that we've raised, we're in very good shape,” he added," Trump said.
MAGA Inc. is a pro-Trump super PAC that played a major role in his 2024 campaign. Super PACs can raise and spend unlimited money to influence elections, but they are barred from coordinating directly with candidates’ official campaigns.
Trump did not identify which races or candidates would receive support. The spending might be significant, as Republicans seek to protect their congressional majorities in November.
Trump's comments come as his outgoing White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said she would return to MAGA Inc. after leaving her administration position at the end of August. She previously worked for the group before joining Trump's 2024 campaign.
