15-year-old sentenced to 22 years in prison for 2026 drive-by shooting

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A 15-year-old has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for his role in a 2025 drive-by shooting in Lima.

“Every 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17-year-old out there needs to know you shoot a gun, you’re going to go to prison,” said Judge Jeffrey Reed of Allen County Common Pleas Court.

Kamari Page was sentenced on multiple shooting-related charges, including felonious assault, for the drive-by shooting that happened in the early morning hours of Oct. 12, 2025.

Prosecutors say a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old were hit by gunfire, while a 13-year-old was also standing on a porch when the shooting happened.

Prosecutors say the shooting was part of a back-and-forth retaliation between two groups of teens.

Page was 14 years old at the time of the incident. Three others in the vehicle were taken into custody. The oldest was 16 years old.

“I’ve been dealing with it for over 27 years. I can’t figure it out. I don’t know really who’s to blame or what’s to blame, but it got to a point where kids are shooting each other. And thank God we don’t have a murder here. I think the community as a whole should step back in cases like this and say, ”What are we doing with our kids?” said Reed.

Page apologized for his actions. Reed asked him where he got the gun.

Page said he found it in a car a month before the drive-by.
