MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A federal grand jury has indicted a Prichard code enforcement officer on a felony firearm charge.

Albert McCreary was indicted for illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. He pleaded not guilty.

A judge ordered McCreary held without bond. Prosecutors argued he is a flight risk and a danger to the public.

Court records show McCreary has a felony conviction for domestic battery by strangulation in Florida.

If convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years in federal prison. Jury selection is set for Sept. 28.
