Jurors review law enforcement interview in Wayne County murder-arson trial.Jurors review law enforcement interview in Wayne County murder-arson trial WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va.(WCHS) — During the second day of testimony in a Wayne County murder-arson trial, prosecutors interviewed the defendant.Joshua Morrow is accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend, 34-year-old Brittany Brown and her mother, 57-year-old Erma Brown before setting the house on fire in December of 2024.Jurors reviewed body camera footage of law enforcement interviewing Morrow a day after the fire.When told about the deaths of Brittany and Erma Brown, prosecutors said Morrow did not show genuine grief.“He never actually displayed any tears,” West Virginia State Police Sgt.Drew Stallings said of Morrow.“The only person he inquired about the state of was his daughter.Several times during interview both inside and outside he indicated he had no information as to what was actually going on.He never asked about the status or well-being of Brittany or her mother.” On cross examination, Stallings was shown a transcript of the interview and testified the defendant did ask if his family was OK.Prosecutors are expected to continue presenting their case on Friday.
