FLANDREAU, S.D. — Law enforcement across eastern South Dakota continue to search this week for a suspect involved in a kidnapping investigation, with police confirming all three children were found safely.
The investigation began Saturday, Aug. 1, when the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Police Department was informed of a possible parental kidnapping involving three children on the Flandreau Indian Reservation.

Tribal police say they made contact Saturday with Jordan Curry in reference to an unrelated criminal investigation, but that Curry fled. A short time later, tribal police say they received a report that Curry had removed her three children from a placement home.
Authorities say her taking of the children was unauthorized, as the children were ordered to remain in the custody of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe’s Office of Social Services as Curry is under investigation for unrelated matters.
Tribal police quickly verified that the children were not present in the placement home and notified other law enforcement agencies outside of the reservation.
Later on Saturday, the Sioux Falls Police Department received a report that Curry had been spotted. Upon confirmation, authorities say a pursuit ensued until Curry arrived at an apartment complex along Elmwood Avenue in Sioux Falls.
Authorities say Curry fled into an unknown apartment, and that the children were not found at the scene.
As the search for the children continued, tribal police said that on Sunday, law enforcement located the missing children at a Sioux Falls apartment, affirming that the children were found safe.
Curry’s whereabouts, however, remain unknown.

On Monday morning, Sioux Falls Police Sgt. Cole German confirmed his agency’s involvement in the pursuit of Curry and the recovery of the children, but said Curry has still not been located by law enforcement, at the time of his report.
He said anyone with information regarding Curry’s whereabouts is asked to contact local law enforcement or the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Police Department.
Curry is not believed to present a danger to the public.
