2 charged in shooting that killed 19-year-old, wounded 3 others
The Philadelphia Police Department has made two arrests in connection with a weekend shooting that killed one man and injured three others.
The shooting happened early Sunday near West Walnut Street during a large birthday party that police said drew people from surrounding counties. Police said they received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire and reports that several people had been hit. When officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Jamari Hickman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Hickman was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Ja'Tavious Johnson and Jacob Triplett, both 20 years old and from Carthage, were arrested in Leake County with assistance from the Carthage Police Department and the Leake County Sheriff's Office. Johnson and Triplett are both charged with first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
