Man shot woman in Baton Rouge, drove to Tennessee with body in passenger seat, police say

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot a woman in Baton Rouge and drove with the victim dead in the passenger seat of a vehicle to Tennessee, police said.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the suspect, Tyronne Brazille, 50, was taken into custody after being pulled over for a traffic violation in Memphis on Thursday, August 13.

Police said that during the traffic stop, they discovered the victim, Lanessa Bradford, 50, dead in the vehicle. They said Bradford was found with a gunshot wound.

The actual shooting happened at Independence Community Park in Baton Rouge, authorities said. They added they believe Brazille opened fire on Bradford after the two got into a verbal argument.

According to BRPD, the suspect was taken into custody in Memphis as a fugitive and is awaiting extradition to Baton Rouge. Authorities said he will face a murder charge in connection with Bradford’s death.
