Two in Warren charged in Medicaid fraud probe

Two Smiths Grove residents are among six people statewide who have been indicted on suspicion of defrauding the state’s Medicaid program.
The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office announced Tuesday that Chester Meador, 61, and Starla Meador, 59, were each indicted on three counts of devising or engaging in a scheme to defraud the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program of $1,000 or more.
Authorities accuse the Meadors of being responsible for more than $113,000 in losses.
The charges against both people are Class D felonies, each punishable by up to five years in prison.
The case was investigated by the Attorney General’s Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control.
