(Lake View) -- A Shenandoah man accused of murdering a Manning woman remains jailed on $1 million bond.
Northwest Iowa Now reports that 27-year-old Joshua Lehman appeared in Sac County District Court Monday for a hearing involving his bond and pretrial detention. A district court judge rejected the defense's request for the court to set a new bond and contention that a cash-only bond violates Iowa's constitutional guarantee of bail. The state opposed Lehman's request and sought pretrial detention.
Lehman was arrested August 2 on 1st degree murder charges in connection with the death of 27-year-old Dr. Rylie-Shea Muhlbauer. Muhlbauer was found dead from a gunshot wound at a house in Lake View. Lehman pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment, and waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
He remains in the Sac County Jail.
