The Kingston, New Hampshire, Police Department arrested a man on Wednesday on sexual assault charges stemming from years of alleged sexual abuse at a Maine campground.
On February 27, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department launched an investigation after a report of a sexual assault committed against a minor under the age of 13.
The horrifying report claimed that the alleged abuse took place over the course of years at the Four Seasons Campground in Naples, Maine.
The investigation led deputies to John Defina, 81, of Kingston, NH.
Defina was reportedly staying as a seasonal resident at the campground when the alleged assaults took place.
Deputies secured a warrant for Defina, who was taken into custody in NH by the Kingston Police.
He faces two counts of unlawful sexual contact, Class B, one count of unlawful sexual contact, Class C, and two counts of unlawful sexual contact, Class D.
He is being held at the Rockingham County Jail in NH pending an extradition hearing.
