Officials said the victim, 16-year-old Samuel Ojeda of Triangle, Va., was declared dead after deputies responded to noise complaints and gunshots at 11770 Bowery Lane near Catlett, which sits roughly 30 miles from Warrenton.
Deputies arrived at the outdoor party, a quinceañera, and learned that shots were fired at a different property nearby. Fauquier County Sheriff's Office officials said deputies were leaving the party to go to the other location when they saw a fight at the quinceañera and heard the gunshot.
A suspected shooter has not been identified, and no arrests have been made, according to a statement.
