Kitchen worker arrested on sexual misconduct involving inmate at St. Clair prison

A contract kitchen employee at St. Clair Correctional Facility has been arrested on a custodial sexual misconduct charge involving an inmate, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

ADOC agents arrested Kendra Threatt, 40, on Friday. The department said agents with its Narcotics and Law Enforcement Services divisions made the arrest.

The arrest followed an investigation into allegations of prohibited activity involving an inmate at the prison, according to ADOC. The department did not provide details about the allegations or identify the inmate.

Threatt was taken into custody without incident and transported to the St. Clair County Detention Facility, where she was charged with custodial sexual misconduct.

Threatt was released from jail on $15,000 bond Friday evening.

Threatt's employment has been terminated by the company that employed her, according to ADOC. The agency did not identify the contractor.
