One person dead, another hospitalized after crash near Sabin
Clay County Sheriff’s Office says one man was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene
SABIN, Minn. (Valley News Live) - One person is dead and another was hospitalized following a crash near the intersection of 70th Street South and 50th Avenue South near Sabin, Minnesota, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency personnel were dispatched to a report of an injury crash at approximately 8:53 a.m. on Friday, September 11.
Dispatchers were advised that one person had been ejected from one of the vehicles and was lying unresponsive in the ditch. Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies began lifesaving efforts upon arrival until paramedics with Sanford Ambulance arrived.
The individual, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Second driver hospitalized
The driver of the second vehicle, also an adult male, was responsive and communicating with deputies and paramedics at the scene. He was transported by Sanford Ambulance to an area hospital. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. No names will be released at this time pending notification of family members.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Glyndon Rescue, Sabin Fire and Rescue, Sanford Ambulance, and the Red River Regional Dispatch Center.
