TBI investigating after Metro Nashville Police fatally shoot man armed with sword

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is investigating after a Metro Nashville Police officer fatally shot an armed suspect on Saturday, police say.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said an officer fatally shot a 54-year-old man who was armed with a sword outside of his Hyundai sedan on Cheshire Drive.
A woman was reportedly being held against her will in the vehicle at the time of the incident, MNPD said.
The TBI is investigating the shooting.
No other details have been released.
