River Road African American Museum hosting Juneteenth celebration in Donaldsonville Museum offers interview with retired Louisiana Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson, guided tours, and live performances DONALDSONVILLE, La. — The River Road African American Museum in Donaldsonville is celebrating Juneteenth with a special program and several interactive learning experiences. The celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at the museum on Williams Street. Organizers say the Juneteenth celebration includes an interview and book signing with retired Louisiana Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson, moderated by Federal Magistrate Judge Karen Wells Roby. The museum is also offering guided tours of RRAAM’s Living Campus, live art performances, community oral history discussions and recordings, and additional Juneteenth celebration programming. Attendees will have the chance to hear from one of Louisiana’s most influential legal leaders while celebrating Juneteenth as a community through engagement, storytelling and history.
