We are beginning another very hot stretch just as students are heading back to the classroom. Summertime heat continues its grip on New Mexico under a dome of high pressure.

Record-breaking heat is expected across much of western and northern New Mexico. Monday is an Impact Weather Day with a Heat Advisory until 8 p.m.

Highs across the Albuquerque metro will top 100 degrees, challenging the current record of 99. Santa Fe should make it to 95 degrees, easily topping the current record of 93.

There is only a slight chance for isolated showers or storms on Monday with better chances throughout the rest of the week. No relief overnight with warm morning lows in the 60s and 70s across most of the state.
