NKY domestic abuse situation turns into SWAT standoff after suspect pulls gun: police RYALND HEIGHTS, Ky. (WKRC) - A domestic abuse situation in Northern Kentucky turned into a SWAT standoff when the suspect allegedly threatened officers with a gun. According to a release from the Kenton County Police Department, officers received a domestic violence call at 2:56 p.m. on June 20. Upon arriving at the residence, officers made contact with 62-year-old Delbert Hornsby. Hornsby, who was the suspect accused of domestic violence, allegedly pulled out a firearm and pointed it at an officer. "No shots were exchanged and officers were able to back up, get the wife out of the residence, and establish a perimeter," police wrote. Hornsby initially refused to leave the residence, prompting a SWAT response that was "ultimately successful." Hornsby surrendered after "several hours," police said. Hornsby was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
