U.S. Senate nominee Annie Andrews brings ‘gas, grits, and groceries’ campaign tour to Lowcountry

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - South Carolina Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, Annie Andrews, made campaign stops in Beaufort County and Aiken on Tuesday, September 8 as part of her statewide push to address the cost of living.

The visits are part of her “gas, grits, and groceries tour,” which focuses on her campaign promise to make South Carolina more affordable for working families. Andrews emphasized that her focus remains strictly on local voters rather than party politics.

“I am in this race for one reason: to return this Senate seat to the people of South Carolina,” Andrews said. “When I am elected, I will wake up every single day, roll up my sleeves, and work across the aisle to solve the problems that South Carolinians are facing. I am not beholden to a political party, to an administration. I am beholden to the people of South Carolina.”

Following her stop in Beaufort County, Andrews continued her campaign trail Tuesday afternoon with an appearance in Aiken.
