Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Black Hawk County crash
BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa — A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash Thursday night in Black Hawk County.
Deputies with the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office responded around 8:40 p.m. Sept. 11 to a crash near Highway 63 and Cedar Wapsi Road.
Investigators said a Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on West Cedar Wapsi Road and turned north onto Highway 63. After the car made the turn, it was struck from behind by a Harley-Davidson Trike.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.
The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo and later flown to the University of Iowa hospital in Iowa City with life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said no fault has been assigned to either driver.
