PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

ANDERSON COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation arrested a daycare provider in Anderson County in connection with the abuse of an infant and a toddler.
According to the KBI, at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, agents arrested Tregon Guernsey, 28, of Garnett on a warrant for two counts of child abuse, aggravated endangerment of a child and two counts of making false information.
The Garnett Police Department assisted in the arrest, and she was booked into the Anderson County jail on a $500,000 bond. Her first appearance is scheduled for September 2.
The charges allege she severely injured a 5-month-old baby in November 2025. When agents investigated the injuries, they discovered that in July 2024, Guernsy struck a 4-year-old child. Both children were under her supervision at her daycare when the injuries occurred.
A GoFundMe says that the baby, Brayden, was left with life-altering injuries after becoming a victim of shaken baby syndrome, and he now requires constant medical care and specialized equipment.
