Rep. Tom Tiffany hosts “Breakfast with Tiffany” in Superior
Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany hosted “Breakfast with Tiffany” at Vintage Italian Pizza in Superior Saturday morning, where he talked about policies he would enact if he was elected to Wisconsin’s governor seat.
Attendees snacked on pizza and pastries while Tiffany addressed a wide variety of issues, including the importance of affordable energy and healthcare, which he said he’d partially tackle through price transparency. He also attacked his opponent David Crowley’s stance on data centers, calling him “Data Center David Crowley.”
“He said that these subsidies should continue for these big corporations. That’s Wisconsin taxpayers that pay for that,” Tiffany said.
“I will not have those subsidies. I will end them.”
Crowley has also accused Tiffany of being too supportive of data centers, after the Republican voted against A.I. regulations in congress.
Michael Alfonso, a candidate for the Wisconsin 7th Congressional District, joined him at breakfast. The Trump-backed candidate said his top priority is affordability, noting younger voters are concerned they won’t be able to find good-paying jobs or afford homes.
“When people can’t afford the necessities, they turn to crazy ideas like socialism. Well, I’m the other side of that coin. I’m offering a solution,” he said. “I’m saying we can afford these things if we get back to not having the government inflate away our dollar, if we have fiscal conservatism in office.”
With that structure, Alfonso said prices will decrease until the American Dream is once again affordable.
Alfonso’s father-in-law, U.S. Secretary Sean Duffy, actually held Tiffany’s seat before him. Tiffany said his advice for the 26-year-old candidate would be to spend time in Northern Wisconsin and Douglas County, calling it “critical” for the future of the state.
