Firefighters Knock Down Westfield Brush Fire

WESTFIELD, Maine (WAGM) - Firefighters battled a brush fire in Westfield on Saturday.

Just before 9 p.m. on September 5th, the Mars Hill Fire Department responded to a call reporting a brush fire around 697 Egypt Road in Westfield. After Mars Hill firefighters arrived and assessed the situation, they requested mutual aid from the Presque Isle Fire Department. Both crews worked at the scene as residents were asked to avoid the area during the response. There is no word yet on what caused the fire, how much land may have burned, or whether anyone was hurt.
