ALDOT worker killed in Bullock County crash BULLOCK COUNTY, Ala.(WALA) - An Alabama Department of Transportation employee has died following a two-vehicle crash in Bullock County.Jackson, 48, of Montgomery, was fatally injured in the crash, which occurred at approximately 9:55 a.m.on Thursday, May 28, on Alabama 51 near the 78-mile marker — about seven miles west of Hurtsboro.According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Jackson was a passenger on a trailer being used for roadway maintenance.The trailer was being pulled by a 2024 Ford F-250 when it was struck by a 2005 Mack CV713 dump truck.Jackson was thrown from the trailer and pronounced dead at the scene.The F-250 was driven by Gary Battle, 46, of Uniontown, also an ALDOT employee.Battle was injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.His current condition is unknown.The dump truck driver was not injured.Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate.No further information is available at this time.Copyright 2026 WALA.All rights reserved.
