Now that he’s back living in the U.K., Prince Harry has no plans to leave — no matter who objects, a source tells Closer .
“Harry is a very stubborn person, so the fact that Prince William clearly doesn’t want him in England is only making him more determined to stay,” says the source. “He wants to stand his ground and show his brother that he can’t be bullied out of town.”
On Tuesday, September 15, People reported the siblings had had “no direct contact” following the Spare author’s surprise relocation from California to Britain with wife Meghan Markle and kids Prince Archie , 7, and Princess Lilibet , 5, in August.
“Harry can’t believe how ice cold his brother is towards him,” says Closer ‘s source. “He really had hoped that things would thaw once he moved back, but if anything, William is even more distant.”
The Sussexes famously stepped down as senior working royals and fled Harry’s homeland in 2020 amid tensions with his family. Two years later, the release of his memoir — which featured unflattering claims about William, 44, and other relatives — further exacerbated the situation.
According to the source, recent news of the 42-year-old planning a film tribute to their late mother, Princess Diana , to mark the 30th anniversary of her death “will no doubt stir the pot” with the future king even more.
“Harry truly doesn’t care,” insists the source. “If anything, there’s a big part of him that loves getting a rise out of William.”
While the Duke of Sussex has made strides to repair his relationship with King Charles III since a summer sitdown at Highgrove House , “everyone is saying there’s no chance his feud with William will ever be fixed,” adds the source. “It’s sad.”
