NC Secretary of State to visit Columbus County for small business roundtable

WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WECT) - North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine F. Marshall is set to travel to Columbus County to meet with small business owners and share new data on business creation in the area.

Marshall will host a roundtable at Southeastern Community College from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 27, where she is expected to present Columbus County-specific business creation numbers and discuss the state’s Rural RISE NC initiative, which the office said connects new business creators with resources.

Before the roundtable, Marshall will walk South Madison Street in downtown Whiteville starting at 1 p.m., stopping at four local businesses: Mercantile on Main, Seven Ten South Boutique, Todd’s Clothing and Irene’s.

The roundtable is open to small business owners, economic developers and business advocates. It will be held in the Beth Israel Synagogue Community Room at the Southeastern Community College Administration Building.
