Monday marks back to school for Hawaii’s public students, so add extra commuting time during morning and afternoon rush hours on the highways and byways. If feasible, the Skyline rail and city bus system should be considered.
For students and families, be aware that for the first time ever, there’s a new statewide cell phone policy: for elementary and middle school students, cell phone use is banned during school hours; for high schoolers, it’s banned during instructional times.
