Abilene police seek surveillance footage, audio in Aug. 1 shooting investigation
ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Police Department is asking residents to review home surveillance systems for audio or video that could assist investigators in a shooting investigation.
Police said detectives with the department's Major Investigations Bureau are seeking evidence from the area around the 2000 block of North 16th Street following a shooting that occurred early Aug. 1.

Investigators are specifically asking residents in the neighborhood and nearby areas to check surveillance cameras for recordings that captured gunfire between midnight and about 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 1. Audio recordings of gunshots, as well as any relevant video, could help advance the investigation.
