Boston man to be arraigned in deadly Hyde Park shooting, DA says
A Boston man is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on murder and other charges in connection with a fatal shooting in Hyde Park that left one man dead and four others injured.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said Oliver Derima, 27, of Boston, will be arraigned in West Roxbury Boston Municipal Court on charges stemming from the shooting that happened early Monday morning.
Boston police responded at about 12:38 a.m. to a report of a shooting near 1184 Hyde Park Ave. Officers found five adults suffering from gunshot wounds.
All five victims were taken to local hospitals. Police said one of the victims, a 26-year-old man, later died from his injuries.
"We have one gentleman who didn't survive, unfortunately," Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said Monday. "We're going to do everything we can to hold someone accountable as well."
Neighbors said a party in the area had become increasingly disruptive before the shooting.
The victim's name has not been released.
