According to a release, the Sheriff's Office says its Special Victims Unit led the operation in the Kansas City metro area earlier this month.
Undercover detectives posed online as a 15-year-old girl, and when men who engaged in conversation arrived at designated meet-up spots expecting to meet her, deputies arrested them.
63-year-old Charles A. Farmer, of St. Joseph, was arrested and charged with felony attempted enticement of a minor.
Also arrested and facing the same charge were men from Kansas City, Kansas & Missouri; and Shawnee, Kansas.
