The Richland County Natural Resources Standing Committee to discuss Floodplain Chapter 107 Ordinance
The Richland County Natural Resources Standing Committee will host a public hearing on Monday, Oct. 5, at 9:15 a.m. to discuss the proposed repeal and recreation of the Richland County Floodplain Chapter 107 Ordinance. The hearing will take place in the County Board Room at the Courthouse, in Richland Center.
Under the proposal, Richland County's existing floodplain ordinance will be repealed in its entirety and replaced with a model ordinance provided by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Additionally, new proposed Floodplain Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM), which are set to take effect on Jan. 22, 2027, will be available for public viewing.
Copies of the proposed ordinance and maps are accessible at the Richland County Land Conservation & Zoning Office at the courthouse. All interested members of the public are invited to attend and present testimony at the hearing.
