Two teenage boys were injured in a shooting by a gunman who fired numerous shots into an apartment near the Auburn Park lagoon on the city’s South Side, according to Chicago police.
The unidentified gunman fired shots from a hallway into the occupied apartment in the 400 block of West Winneconna Parkway just after 4 p.m., police said.
An 18-year-old man who was struck in the neck, clavicle, and back was taken to UChicago Medicine in critical condition, while a 13-year-old struck in both calves was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.
Police provided no further details as Calumet Area detectives continued their investigation.
