southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in east
central Kentucky, Bath, Elliott, Estill, Fleming, Menifee,
Montgomery, Powell and Rowan. In northeast Kentucky, Johnson and
Martin. In south central Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski,
Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Bell,
Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie,
Letcher, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Wolfe.
* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms producing
locally heavy rainfall are expected into the weekend. Already
wet soils in some areas will make those locations more
susceptible to flooding. Localized significant flooding may
develop if some places receive several inches of rainfall.

UPDATE: Friday's special-called meeting of London City Council has been cancelled. The cancellation notice of the special-called meeting read "In light of the Kentucky Court of Appeals decision this morning, the undersigned, Members of the City Council for the City of London, hereby cancel the previously called special meeting for July 10, 2026, at 3:00pm prevailing time."
LONDON — In a ruling issued Friday morning, the Kentucky Court of Appeals reversed a special judge's order reinstating London Mayor Randall Weddle after London City Council removed him from office last September. The mayor responded shortly thereafter by announcing his resignation.
