Maine Democrats to hold U.S. Senate nominating convention in Bangor Saturday
Two candidates now on ballot for U.S. Senate
BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Democratic delegates from all 16 Maine counties will gather Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor for a special nominating convention to elect the party’s next U.S. Senate nominee.
Two candidates will appear on the ballot: Former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson and Saundra Pelletier, CEO of Evofem Biosciences, Inc.
David Costello posting Wednesday that he is withdrawing from the race and supporting Jackson.
The Maine Democratic Party is holding a nominating convention to select a replacement U.S. Senate nominee after the original primary winner, Graham Platner, withdrew from the race.
They note attendance is limited to delegates, alternates, Democratic State Committee members, and campaigns.
