MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia University (WVU) Health System has announced plans to support preventative health care and strengthening programs that assist uninsured residents.

President and CEO Albert Wright will present a $9 million contribution to the Monongalia County Commission to expand preventive health services and strengthen community health programs that serve uninsured, Medicaid-enrolled, and other vulnerable residents in the county.

Wright said the funds will be directed to evidence-based public health initiatives administered through the Monongalia County Health Department and other programs.

The announcement will be made at the regular meeting on the Monongalia County Commission Tuesday, July 28 at 10 a.m.
