Suspect facing federal kidnapping charges
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - West Lafayette police have identified the woman accused of abducting a six-month-old girl from West Lafayette on Thursday.
A little before six o’clock last night, West Lafayette police began investigating a possible abduction from Country Villa Apartments. According to police, they later determined that the baby was taken by 22-year-old Jasmine O’Sullivan of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
WLPD coordinated with regional, state and federal law enforcement. They say they learned that O’Sullivan had traveled south with the baby. Louisville Metro Police safely recovered the baby about five hours after the initial report was taken. The baby was soon reunited with family. O’Sullivan was taken into custody.
At this time she is being charged federally with kidnapping. Police say she could face other charges as the investigation continues.
