Former Tennessee deputy faces charges after missing Decatur teen found safe
A former Tennessee deputy is facing charges after a missing 15-year-old from Decatur, Alabama, girl was safely located.
Decatur police said the teenager was found after running away from home last week.
Brian Schalk, a former deputy with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, was arrested and charged with statutory rape and harboring a runaway.
White County, Tennessee, deputies worked with the FBI to locate Schalk and the teen. Authorities said Flock cameras played a key role in helping investigators track down Schalk.
Officials said more charges could be filed.
Schalk is being held in the White County Jail.
