I am writing in support of Tom Begich for governor of Alaska.
I have known Tom since high school, when we were young and didn’t have much sense. I have followed his career even after I moved to Fairbanks. It’s clear that he has gained much more sense than we had in our youth.
Tom impressed me while serving in the Senate, especially with his willingness to work with those who have different political beliefs. He even partnered with Gov. Mike Dunleavy to pass the Alaska Reads Act. Tom’s willingness to compromise is the best way to create long-lasting solutions. It just makes sense.
Besides serving in the Senate, Tom has worked across the state in both urban and rural settings. He has learned the ways of life in many communities. We need a governor who has a strong sense of how Alaskans live.

I am also impressed with Tom’s choice of running mate, Julia Hnilicka. Like Tom, she was born and raised in Alaska, has experience in government and private business and has lived and worked in rural and urban Alaska. She is a sensible choice as a running mate.
I encourage you to vote for Tom Begich for governor. It just makes sense.
