Raytheon expands Forest manufacturing facility, completes $50 million project
A defense contractor completed a $50 million expansion at its site in Scott County.
Raytheon's Forest site now encompasses 445,000 square feet of manufacturing space, making it one of the largest defense manufacturing plants in the state.
Rep. Michael Guest and Sen. Roger Wicker were among those who attended the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new space.
Raytheon completed a 17,000-square-foot expansion of its manufacturing facility that is expected to lead to 100 new high-skill jobs by 2028.
The most recent expansion will serve as a hub for production, testing and integration of Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band pods for the U.S. Navy and the Australian government, as well as other airborne radar programs.
The company says this will strengthen Mississippi's role in supporting critical defense capabilities for the United States and its allies.
