Found The Beef: Two Wendy’s Employees Arrested After Issue At McDonald’s

Two Wendy's employees were arrested in Coweta County in Georgia after a crime committed against a McDonald's employee.

Deputies said two men wearing Wendy's uniforms broke into a vehicle sitting outside of a McDonald's store at Thomas Crossroads on Highway 34. A McDonald's employee looked outside, saw his car being broken into by the Wendy's employees, and spotted two men running away with his backpack.

The victim recognized one of the suspects because he had applied for a job at the very McDonald's restaurant he was robbing, just a few weeks before the incident. The worker chased the suspects into a nearby Kroger store and called 911.

Officials were able to catch up and arrest 33-year-old Jonathan Glass after viewing Kroger security footage showing him walk into the store with the backpack. He was hiding behind some shelving in a back room, and deputies took him into custody.

The investigation then led deputies to a nearby Wendy's on Highway 34, where they were able to find 18-year-old Joshua Hayes working behind the counter and on the clock. After matching him to surveillance footage, they arrested him right there on the spot.

"Our deputies had information that one of the suspects might still be hiding inside the Kroger and ultimately located him hiding behind some shelves and were able to take him into custody," said Cpl. Jacob Herbert with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

Both Glass and Hayes have been charged with unlawfully entering an automobile.

The Wendy's that the duo works at currently has a sign saying they're taking job applications.
