Authorities identify man killed in crash involving semi on Highway 30
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in a Monday afternoon crash involving a semi-tractor on Highway 30.
James Ward, 75, of rural Hershey, died after his GMC Sonoma crossed the center line at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 25 and collided with a westbound semi-tractor at 2:05 p.m. Ward was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries. Following the initial collision, the semi overturned onto the back of a vehicle parked at an address adjacent to the crash scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office extended condolences to Ward’s family and thanked the Nebraska State Patrol for its assistance with the crash investigation and reconstruction.
