Vehicle crashes into the front of Lisbon business causing major damage

A vehicle crashed into a utility pole and then a business on Lisbon Street in Lisbon on Wednesday morning.

Traffic in the downtown area was bottlenecked and drivers heading into Lisbon Falls from Lisbon were bring redirected onto Blethen Steet.

Police asked people to avoid Main Street, also known as Route 196, between the Big Apple and Frank's Restaurant due to what they called a serious motor vehicle accident.

Adept Screen Printing & Graphics Inc. said at about 8:40 a.m. that they would be closed for the rest of the day "due to an unfortunate accident into the front of our building."

The business said all of its staff was safe.

Pictures shared with Maine's Total Coverage showed significant damage to the front of the building, with one entire wall pushed to the side. A white pickup truck could be seen into the front of the building.

Central Maine Power was reporting 52 customers on Lisbon Street without power at 8:50 a.m.

Maine's Total Coverage is working to get details about injuries and a cause of the crash.
