4 Manitowoc residents arrested in drug trafficking bust

MANITOWOC (WLUK) -- Four people have been arrested as a result of a drug trafficking investigation.

On Aug. 19, the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit conducted arrest and search warrant operations in the city.

As a result, officials seized cocaine from several people engaged in cocaine sales from May through August of this year.

The investigation resulted in the seizure of:

- More than two kilograms of cocaine

- Three firearms

- Hundreds of rounds of ammunition

The following Manitowoc residents were arrested on charges of conspiracy to deliver cocaine of 40 grams or more:

- Norval J. Almeyda-Sanchez

- Jorge Plana-Cotto

- Jael Cruz-Arroyo

- Rosario Pena

All four individuals were booked into the Manitowoc County Jail.

The Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit was assisted in the investigation by the DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office, Manitowoc County SWAT team, Sheboygan County SWAT team, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Manitowoc Police Department, Two Rivers Police Department, and Wisconsin State Patrol.
